Hi All,

My S Type has done 68k miles, and is coming up to 10 years old, at which time the Cam belts will need chaining.

However, when it was just two years old and had done 28k and in the ownership of Jaguar Dealer Stratsone of Exeter, is had a brand new engine fitted.

The question is would the new engine come with cam belts already fitted, because if it did I would not need to change them for another 2 years.

I think the reason for the first engine failure was the failure of the Oil pump.

The car runs beautifully and the only bit of work other than servicing has been a new water pump a few weeks ago.

Regards,

Peter.
