Hello!

I am now the proud owner of a 2006 2.7d S Type.

I have a few jobs to do on it and have a load of questions! I'll post them in the S Type owners forum.

I just wanted to say hi! And thanks for all of the free advice, it's been really helpful.

Post some pics up

Cheers

I think I jinxed myself! My car went into Restricted Performance mode on my way into work this morning. I was driving from South Wales to Stratford on Avon when it happened. I managed to find an independent Jaguar specialist very near to Stratford only to find out he's off for a long weekend in South Wales! So can't look at my car until next week.

I'm  having to drive 90 odd miles home in this restricted performance mode tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous about it if I'm honest. I've read a lot on the forum today and tried a few things to clear out the DPF but I don't think it's that as it hasn't cleared after a 60 mile motorway drive.

Any advice would be appreciated, but I think I'm off to the garage Friday morning!

Thanks,

Dave

PS How's this for a pic?

Hi

usually most faults will clear when you turn the engine off and on again

have a look here http://www.bluejag.co.uk/S-Type Instrument-cluster-diagnostics.php

you can bring up diagnostic faults codes on your dash, this might point you to the fault

cheers

Joe

The egr valves can cause this, you need it on a code reader to see if it is that

Thanks for the information!

I ran the Engineering Diagnostic and got the codes D262 9875 E195. I'm just googling what they relate to. If anyone has a link I'd appreciate it.

Thanks again,

Dave
