Hi all, 

I'm a new Jaguar owner so apologies in advance if this is a stupid question. 

I'm trying to find an up to date disc for the satellite navigation (2016/2017) but I can't find one anywhere that is later than 2012. Does anyone know if this update even exists? As it seems that it doesn't. 

Also, while I am here does anyone have any advice for a new Jaguar owner? I have a 2006 S-type 2.7 V6 twin turbo.

2012 is the last update discs they did

Don't think there's any money in it for them to keep updating them

I was trying to find a more up to date disc, from other manufacturers that used the same nav dvd unit , but to no success

so its 2012 is the most up to date

That's the one I got in 2013, and I was told that there were not going to be any more.

My son uses his iPhone to do sat nav duties.

The other responses are correct, however a company called navtool makes a device that adds additional functions to the video display. This includes display of your smartphone and related controls, in addition to a backup camera.  If this interests you just google Navtool.  Best of luck and have fun with your S-type. I love driving mine. Currently an 07, previously had an 03 which I gave to my partner. He now has 200,000 miles and going strong.
