So in dropping off what appeared to be a fault free XF-R for MOT, allegedly "during test" the front off side wheel speed sensor packed up and now I have the following warnings;

DSC unavailable

ABS fault

E-Diff not available

Adaptive Dynamics fault

and the engine management light is now on too.

So I'm going to get the sensor changed and go from there.

Also of note is that recently the car has suffered from a low battery voltage as I hadn't used it for a long drive in a while and I know XF's are sensitive to below par batteries.

If anyone has any knowledge of these faults it would be good to hear from you, otherwise I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.

Plug it in to a CTEK battery maintainer or similar, and leave it charging for at least 12 hours.

All of the warning lights may be down to a low battery charge. When you leave the car for MOT it may well have been unlocked for a while, possibly with a door open, and more battery power being used than usual.

I would make sure that the problems are still there with a fully charged battery before getting a sensor changed.

All them faults are tied to the faulty wheel sensor

as soon as the wheel sensor is fixed/replaced the faults will clear and can be reset

if you catch the cables, they can be damaged easily, bit its prooving who done it

Don't think its tied to the low battery, if it is it would clear on it own as soon as the battery is charged

its worth leaving your battery on charge over night

The car won't be back the garage for a little while, so I won't be able to update or progress fixing it till then. The bits will be ordered tomorrow then I'll get a slot booked for the work. I suppose a busy garage is a good sign!

Update:

The wheel speed sensor has been replaced (part £108 + VAT) and all systems working fine.

No battery issues to report, car has been laid up for a while and is all good.

Just see this thread and it may have saved me! I've had exactly the same issue and most people are advising me it is likely to be a low battery. However after a 200 mile drive it's still the same. 

Hopefully just the ABS sensor then! 

Like above, I seem to have the same issue. The warnings clear when the car is left alone for a while but they all come back after driving only a few meters! Confident it is not a massive safety issue but it is a bit too early for Christmas lights! Thanks all for this useful thread.

This is the 2nd time in 12 months I have had this issue and both occurred after a recent service and MoT. Me thinks perhaps the garage is doing something wrong when replacing the wheels. Not sure yet if it is the same sensor I had replaced last November but too coincidental to occur on the first decent run post service!
