Hello. My 1st Post and request for help. I have had a 2002 SType 3lt petrol Jaguar for 5 years and love it, mileage is 90,000 but I have restricted performance on it now after having to slam brakes on to avoid collison. It now "rumbles" in park and neutral and if accelerating quite hard at about 2.5 - 3 revs it judders. Mechanic cleared the restricted warning but it comes back within a minute of driving. He thinks its the auto gearbox any suggestions ?

I did drive it through a flood 2 years ago and had a new torque thing ! put in. ( sorry woman driver ) and the sensors underneath have lots of grease on them to stop them bringing up warning lights. Should have claimed insurance but wanted to keep the car. Do I bite the bullet and send it to the recycle plant and buy another.

Hi

Only way to know for sure is to plug into a Jaguar IDS/SDD, that will give you faults codes for every thing

generic code readers will only give you basic faults and they wont show gearbox faults

cheers

Joe
