Hi all, New to the forum and after a bit of advice please. I have a 2004 x-type 2.0d and its approaching 220k! I'm currently using the recommended Oil 5w30 fully C3 and im getting a bit of rattle from the timing chain, i recently removed the cover and inspected the chain and guides all looked good, replaced the hydraulic tensioner. but still get rattle when it warms up! to cut a long story short, has anyone used a thicker Oil like 10w40 or maybe even 20w50? any advise is appreciated thanks.

Hi

I would stick with the 5w30 as it what jaguar recommends and the 10w40 and 20w50 might be too thick in winter

also I thought the Oil has to be 5w30 A5, as that's the one that meets jaguar WSS-M2C913-B , C3 does not meet the jaguar spec

cheers

Joe
