Hi Folks,

I am new on here. I purchased a Jaguar X Type 2007 model a couple of years ago, and have always had a problem with pairing either the blackberry or the iPhone 4 to the system. It keeps saying phone in use on screen.  I checked the paperwork which came from the manufacturer and the bluetooth module was installed at the factory. I have replaced the module in the boot, and still get phone in use message on screen. Both my phones are enabled for bluetooth, so cant understand why the system doesn't see any of the phones. When i purchased and fitted a new bluetooth module I also purchased a small wiring loom which apparently goes underneath the console somewhere? This is held on by the velcro on the loom. On the very odd occasion I have a screen that shows up that will allow me to input the code with the hash tags, but still get no joy connecting. Could it be the wiring loom? or can I do a reset somewhere on the Bluetooth system.

Kind Regards.

Trevor,

Is the "small wiring loom" you mention attached to a small black plastic box roughly matchbox sized?

Have you connected it?

Hi Raistlin, thank you for your response. Yes it is a small plastic size loom, same size as a match bot, with a piece of velcro fitted to the side of it. I can only assume that is the only thing taht it could be now. No not connected it yet. Not too sure where it goes yet?

Kind Regards

The module in the boot is the phone module. The little black box on the end of the wire loom is the bluetooth module Trevor.

Remove the centre console pocket and you will see the bluetooth loom connector below it on the driver's side.

The module is fixed to the inside of the centr console with a piece of velcro.

If you have the correct wiring loom in the car, that should solve your problem.

Hi Raistlin,  Fantastic. Thank you for a quick reply, very much appreciated. It must be the Bluetooth module as I have replaced the phone module already and still get same message appearing. I will look at what you suggested. Will let you know how I get on.

Thanks again.

Kind Reagrds
