Another problem that I have with my 2017 XFS is the intermittent failure of the touch screen. Often it just either goes blank or fails to come on for extended periods. Restarting the car doesn’t resolve it. The car is still under warranty, but my experience with Jaguar dealers in the past is that if they don’t experience the problem whilst they have the car, they just say ‘no fault found’. It would be good to know if this is a common problem before taking the vehicle in.

Thanks,

Darrell

I have known this to happen if the battery is a bit low, which can easily happen to any battery at this time of year if you have been doing mostly short journeys.

I keep mine topped up using a CTEK battery charger.

Hi Darrell.

I do exactly the same as David.  A top up once a week in the cold weather is useful.

UPDATE: Jaguar Service advise that a software up-date is due to be released imminently to fix the problem. The last release causes the screen to shut down completely so need to wait a while. Apparently I can do it myself from the car when it’s available.

Hello, what was the outcome with your touch screen. I have just got a 2016 XF with touch screen pro and are getting the same faults as you. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi

Jaguar updated the software (2.5hrs) and the screen no longer goes blank.  however, incontrol app connectivity is still very hit and miss. Reversing camera often fails to come on. Frankly I’ve given up with jaguar and resigned myself to living with it. Dealers are just hopeless. Darrell
