Hi,

Can anybody share what they are averaging on their fuel consumption. I have an S Type 2.5ltr. Drive carefully (been compared to Miss Daisy by my Family members). Currently averaging 28-29 m.p.g.

I might need a service ???

Phil

Hi Phil,

I would hazard a guess the your current drives are relatively short.  I had an x type with the 2.5 engine which gave a similar fuel consumption around the town, but one longer runs between 33 and 35 mpg,

Regards,

Peter.

OK Guys,

Many thanks. A service might improve it a little.

Phil

The official fuel consumption on the combined cycle a for a manual is 29.7mpg, with the autos being a tad less. I think yours is virtually bang on!.  On a gentle motorway run (cruise set to 65-67mph), I can get into higher 30s. Trip computer once showed 40mpg for a fraction of a second!

Must have been a downhill section.
