Hi, my 2003 x-type has developed a strange battery charging fault. After the engine is warm (about 30 mins driving), sometimes when I stop for a short period (anything less than 30 mins) with engine off but still warm, the battery charging warning light will come on as soon as I restart engine. It will stay on until I leave the car to cool down for about an hour, and then be ok. Seems like it is intermittent but maybe is increasing in frequency-awkward stopping for petrol! Could it be leads, alternator or battery? (No problems starting). Thanks for any advice.

HI,  I HAVE THE SAME FAULT , WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME? THANKS

I suspect the likely hood of you getting a reply to this is very low, as the original post was 23.04.2018., that being four years ago.

Best Wishes and Regards, John
