Tyre pressure

Hi I have just had new Dunlop 245,40,19 fitted,garage say it' 36 psi all round.any thoughts welcome.

I would check out what the handbook or the plate on the door pillar says, but it does seem to be the right pressure.

Hi thanks for your input,it' just that I have read a lot of reviews recommending 33 all round so a bit unsure what to go by.

If in doubt I would probably work on the principle that it is slightly better to have a little more than less but I would probably take it to 1 or 2 psi around the 33psi (e.g. 34 - 35 psi) and see how the handling is affected while checking the wear pattern on the tread. 

Bear in mind also, the tyre temperature when checking pressures, as that alters considerably when the air temperature inside the tyre is increased (which can rise quite a few psi when the tyre is hot)....also bear in mind the accuracy of the pressure gauge you are using....the ones on the pumps at the petrol station are usually way out of calibration so you are better off having a pocket type gauge (either manual or electronic type).

Hi,thanks for the info,I was running the old set on 33 and double checked with 2 guages. Was only checking as garage recommended 36 all round.Got 35 in at the moment .lots of comments on pressure for 19 inc, one saying 36 some saying 33

I personally run 43 if going long distances . I get better mileage and turns better.....
