Hi everyone , just joined today I recently bought my first Jag , xf ,rsport I've always wanted one , now I'm hooked. I've been looking at 06/07 plate xk's mostly to use as a second / weekend car . The only thing holding me back is running costs , has anyone any advice particularly Jag specialists in the west yorkshire area ?

Welcome to the Club, Tom.

You have a great car,  --  Running costs come second to enjoyment!

There is a Jaguar Specialist in Doncaster which has a very good reputation.  The guy who owns the business is a Chris Iles or Isles, and members have been known to travel a fair distance to have him look at their cars.

Regards,

Peter.

Thanks peter , your right about the car , right at this moment I can't see me ever driving anything else but Jags.

Hi Tom and Welcome to the Club,

If you search through past posts you may come across some of mine concerning similar XK aspirations. However, as the First Lady is not too enamoured with that ambition, and the Second Lady - my S Type, Black Bess - takes umbrage if I pay too much attention to other motors (including the First Ladies S3) I have had to include the full stealth package in the options list.

If you find one, its mine.

Cheers,

Steve

Hi Steve I'll keep that in mind , and your right , her indoors is not so keen on another cat . I've seen plenty high milers around for around 9 or £10k and a few fsh with under 70k for around £12k.

Welcome to the Club Tom.  I have had my XK for four years now, also as a weekend and pleasure car doing circa 3,000 miles a year. In that time nothing has gone wrong (touch wood at this point!), and the only expense other than servicing has been replacing one brake light bulb and one side light bulb at a total cost of less than a tenner.

Mine is very low mileage: I haven’t checked recently, but around 30,000 miles.

I simply love it, and intend to keep it until I can’t pull myself up to get out of it.
