Hi All, recently had an amber warning light for Adaptive Dynamics Fault, had diagnosis done and was told the rear right wheel sensor was faulty?? Phoned them today for a price to replace and was told £250.00, is this right?? Any help much appreciated.

Hi Roy and Welcome to the Club,

Problems that are rooted with the ABS wheel sensors and reluctor rings are a common problem - they spawn all sorts of spurious reports TCS, DCS, etc. etc..

I went through all that pain last winter with my S Type and but spent only £15.00 on a new wheel sensor and did all the work myself. I cannot imagine the XF arrangement is all that different and if you're comfortable with oily bits and have the tools the job can be done in less than an hour - and that includes jacking the car up and removing the wheel. To get a flavour for what involved check out YouTube, theres one video where a 5 year old girl installs the sensor on her fathers S Type.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Steve

Hi Again Roy,

I should have checked Frank eBay link before but I see now that Jaguar integrated the cable and sensor into a single piece of kit for the XF - and probably others - hence the big price difference. On earlier models, like my S Type, the sensor and cable are separate items hence my £15 for the sensor alone. That said, the work involved in fitting the sensor and cable is still less than an hour for a DIY job.

Cheers.

Hi all, Apologies for jumping onto this discussion, but I have a 2013 XF S and has had adaptive dynamics fault on it for a while. The sport button and winter mode don't work either as its all linked, I'm assuming its a module? I'm not sure where the module is located if any one can help that would be marvellous.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Nick
