1996 jag xk8 first 500 project car...

So, I'm going to buy a 1996 jaguar XK8, I've been told the only problems of it are a dodgy ECU causing it to cut out after a short while of driving, and the lacquer is starting to peel. Regardless I think I'm going to buy it. I'm paying 300 for it from a friend and am not looking to make money just would like for this not to become a bottomless pit of money. For now I'm looking for anything I should be wary of and looking if anyone has any ideas what to expect. I will be posting car details as soon as I receive them!
