Hello all,

Last week l bought a 2.5 estate from eBay which was driven 100 miles to me and arrived  ok, all warning lights came on and off in the right places and the oil and coolant stayed where it should ! It drove well except on corners when it sounded like the front wheels turning with the engine off.

It had a brand new mot so my heart ruled my head bought it and paid what I now know to be far to much(£1500)  I needed a car to take a full-size wheelchair for a few months as my Japanese classics would not suit. Took it to my mechanic of 15 years who knows these cars off the top of his head who found my engine rattle as a bolt and washer off the air box but as suspected the noise from the drive to him from starting onwards  was transfer box. After hurling us around the countryside at all speeds his advice was drive it till it breaks then scrap it. In to deep to do that anyway I love it now. So if you have stayed awake so far I have two questions

1 is it likely to try and get him to change the oil in it? If I ask him to tilt the car he will tell me to p off and is it likely to produce a positive result anyway?

2 I have seen quite a few boxes  on eBay can any one recommend any sellers who can sell me a working one  for about the £300/400 mark.

I know which one to avoid

Thankyou for reading this

Best wishes

Paul
