Hi I hve a 2005 Jaguar s type hadn’t started it in a week, it won’t start the radio code did come up, so I guessed it was battery, I tried to jump start it and no luck, I also checked the battery voltage at 11.7 volts and then 11.5 volts . The battery is 4 years old. Could it be the battery

Also to note their is a bit of a small tiny crank in the engine I left it on Jump leads for 15 minutes and reved the jumper car up a bunch but nothing

Hi Deirdre, I would have thought the battery should be about 14 volts so probably time to think about a replacement

Hi Deirdre and welcome to the club.

It doesn't surprise me when the battery is fading.  It happened to me when a 3 year old battery was past its best. If you have a good mechanic in the area, a visit to him/her would be the best option.

Regards,

Peter.
