I have just purchased my third Jaguar. My first car was an Austin A40 Farina Mk 2 in the 1960s when I was 18. Within three years I got bored with it and bought a second-hand Mk. 10 Jaguar. I ran it to the ground and later purchased a 420G. More power but less torque. I am now 74 and it's time to live again, so I have taken possession of a 67 plate Jaguar XF.

Hi Michael,

I am on 2nd Jaguar x type sovereign but want an S Type again really like the look of them.

My first car a rather sad Robin Reliant -as had motor bike license- what was I thinking!, That did not last long ended up quite famous in the local paper after I sold it, as a barricade on a rather notorious estate.

After my temporary insanity I  improved slightly then and went through Escort, Mondeo, Renault sports, Saab then discovered the S Type.

The XF beautiful looking and fast - you will have fun in that 🙂

Welcome to the club, Michael,

The Austin A40 Farina was my second car and was capable of doing 65mph on the flat. Various company cars followed that and eventually  I had two Jaguars, an x type and an S Type - both great cars.

I am a Jaguar enthusiast and even wrote a book about Jaguars and those that designer them.

Enjoy.

Regards,

Peter.

I had a Reliant Robin too, it did the job but for a teenager a Sinclair C5 might have had more street cred.

Oh good I m not the only one

True it did the job, it got me and a Labrador here and there and it was cheap to run

The C5 was quite novel and quirky.
