Hi Guys & Gals

I have had my S Type 2.7 V6 diesel for 6 months or may be more now & I love the thing, I posted here about battery problems when I first had it & got loads of great advice! which fortunately sorted my issue!

I have another issue now which I could use some help on if you don't mind?

Long story short Grandson got hold of key fob & was pressing buttons like crazy out of house window! (not sure if that is relevant) & fob stopped working! boot was open, car unlocked & headlights were on.

Once the fob was retrieved it no longer worked! it would start the car but none of the buttons worked!

Changed battery but no joy, contacted Jaguar dealer but told new one needed & 100's of £'s

Sent it away to a specialist who were great, but they found no fault with the fob at all.

They advised me to get the car checked!

Anyone had this issue before? & any advice?

Rob

Hi Robert,

It appears that your key fob has worn out the buttons.  You can get replacements for under a tenner from e Bay and the batteries replaced by following the rule in your book. Batteries easy.  CR2032 cost £1 at Poundland.  All very easy to fit.

Thanks Peter

The remote has been tested & working as it should with a new battery! it appears that the issue is with the car!

Thanks for your response though

Rob
