The headlining and covering of front windscreen pillars has come loose. I am having difficulty in finding a firm who will repair them Does anyone know of a firm they can recommend in the NW, ideally Fylde Coast?

Hello Geoffrey,

Welcome to Jaguar Owners Club.

I cant recommend any as I live in wales.

Did find these

Auto Expert Blackpool on 01253 731810 or email [email protected].

My Pillars are wrinkled I am going to try my self.

On You tube there are a number of videos.

I have seen it being repaired using spray adhesive or double sided tape.

There are also videos on how to repair the roof liner with spray adhesive.

I think the cost for a dealer to repair is £300 - £400.

Kind Regards,

Julie.

Many listings on Internet, eBay etc., etc,.

Depends on what quality of job you want done. If you are fussy like me then I would not recommend doing a DIY job. Email various advertisers and ask for Photos, so as you can review their work.

The pillar job is quite easy and can be completed by any competent DIYer. The roof lining is a bit more tricky but again can be done by any competent home mechanic. As previously mentioned YouTube is a good place to start. There are companies on eBay who sell everything required to do this. Make sure you get the correct colour match if you only do the pillars.

2005 XKR

I asked a professional and they could do the job for around 250 £

However while speaking he mentioned the front wind screen has to be removed to repair to original specs.

I tried it to fix myself with spray glue, which was not a success as the lining back foam crumbled and turned to dust with near nothing left to glue.

It became a sloppy and stained job and the result was very disappointing..

Hi Geert,

Sorry it was not able to be fixed at home.

Have you had it done by a professional now?

£250 sounds reasonable, how much is the screen?

I hope, if you have not done already, that you can get it fixed to a standard you are happy with.

Kind Regards,

Julie.

Well, I traded her in against a 2008 Maserati GT. Gorgeous car, however with the same problem later on.

For the XKR they adviced me to wait with repair of the head liner, till the front screen needed replacement...

Cost approx. £3000

(The back up plate which holds the liner cannot be removed in one piece, without removing the front window.)

My suggestion was to split the head liner in two halfs, left and right, to make a satisfying repair, but it never came to that....

I can understand your decision.
