Warning light came on so when I got home put it on the diagnostics and it came up with Interrmittent - Exhaust gas recirculation cooler - bypass control circuit. Is there an easy fix? I've cleared the fault and warning light goes off when engine started.

And another thing, after i unplug the diagnostic reader the car will not start. i have to leave 10/15 minutes and then it will start, strange.

Same as mine…

I’ve read of many egr faults and many potential repairs, i.e. removing and cleaning off/out the sooty tar that forms also running a cleaner through in the fuel (snake Oil in my opinion). Few are successful and subsequently new egr’s are bought

You can get an egr delete, but this is software and I’ve no idea of the cost

Hopefully, the fault was indeed a one off and doesn’t reappear

As for the code reader thing? Weird, I don’t have a scooby - I would try a different code reader first…
