Hi there, Gordon here from Edinburgh. Just collected my 2007 S type 2.7 se from down in Englandshire yesterday. Enjoying it so far.  A couple of minor niggles. No code for the touch screen radio and the battery had been replaced before I got it, Fuel gauge was working on journey up but not this morning , intermittent cruise control.

Any advice on where to look for good information or even if this is fairly normal would be much appreciated

Hello Gordon,

Welcome to Jaguar Owners.

I have found some information that may be useful.

This can be caused by a number of different issues. Most of the time this is caused by a bad brake switch. If the switch is shorting out, then it will cause the computer to think that the brakes are being applied, which turns off the cruise control. If the switch is fine, then it may have a bad speed sensor or the cruise control switch itself is bad.

One of the easiest tests I do is simply have someone drive behind me and see if the brake lights are coming on without touching the pedal. If it is, then you should replace the switch. If not, then further testing of the circuit has to be done

Radio Code Have you checked if it has been written or sticker placed in the car handbooks, That is where mine was.

Or in Glove box.

You could try calling Jag dealer.

Hope you get everything sorted out.

I have an S Type, great cars, hope you enjoy yours.

Kind Regards,

Julie.

Press the following buttons at the same time: A.Mem + PTY + >>

This bypasses the need for a code. Hold the buttons down and after a second or two WELCOME appears on the display and then after another second or two the display shows the regular radio information. You now have an uncoded radio with factory defaults so you will need to reprogram any presets.
