Members,

Different slant on an age old problem. Xf 2009, central locking failure. Car starts/stops/runs. New batteries in both remotes, problem not solved.

Any ideas?

Don't see any ideas folks, please help.

Hi

Depends on what has actually failed. Does nothing work or only some bits? Is it all doors and boot/tailgate or just one or front/back? Do windows work?

Kind regards

John

I have similar problems. I did find that my rear door lock mechanism was stuck. Cleared the fault with a quick spray of thin oil. It was necessary to remove the door panel, which took longer than the remedy.

I still have no luck with the remote. Re programmed several times but the locks don't release everything else is ok. I will post if I get any success after checking the other doors. I hear the locks activate but not open. Could be another lock sticking.

None of the doors lock via remote. The car runs well, auto lock operates at 5mph.

If the doors lock with the autolock, it can’t be an actuator issue. Therefore the problem must lie with the key fobs or whatever receives the signal. I would imagine, however, that the keys just need reset/reprogrammed. Jewgle it or go to Jag. Probably a simple fix.

All the best

Marty
