Came back to my car found someone had smashed the casing. I have bought a second hand one online it was a 2011 model with 14 pin plug which i thought would be ok but noticed the mirror does not have the overtaking warning symbols. Will it be ok or will it throw up errors? Any comments/ suggestions welcome. Mine is The Portfolio version of 2012 XF 2.2D.

No idea mate. Plug it in and see how it goes!

Hi. If it was just the casing can you not swap the mirrors over?

Good point John, thanks.

Well, managed to remove door panel and mirror successfully. However I did find that my mirror was a 16 pin and the s/hand purchase was 14 pin obviously the extra pins are for the blind spot detection. I have installed it as it was in great condition and only cost £30. Everything works auto fold, indicator, puddle light and reverse auto dip but I have yellow warning for blind spot error, irritating but small price to pay. Is there any way of disabling the blind spot function?
