Jag 2007 XKRS Convertible - Internal Alarm - Very Strange

My Jag is reliable. However, when i tried to start the dashboard lights flickered and buzzed and then an internal alarm was activated. This lasted for a few minutes. I tried again and this time she was dead with only the dashboard lights around the speedo on. I’ve tried a couple of times to start her up but no change. Passenger door and boot is locked and the key fob alarm doesn’t work. It’s like she’s gone into a protection mode. 

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Charlie-Welcome to the club we will try to help-I think the very fist thing to check is the battery----How old is it ????

and is it holding the charge ???
