Just found a car advertised on the internet as: 2.0 diesel X Type 6 speed manual. This struck me as confusing as I thought all 2.0 were 5 speed. So I dug about and had it confirmed I was correct and all 2.2 diesel X Type are 6 speed. Maybe the car sales have put in the wrong description or they don't know what they are selling. The pictures don't give a clear view of the rear so cannot identify it that way.

II am hoping the description is right and it is in fact a 2.2. Been looking for ages for one I can afford, this one is a few 100 over 3K, fsh, 136K miles, new mot, and local. Wish me luck the car sales is open on Monday morning.

If I get it will post pics asap

Regards Greg

Welcome to the Jaguar Owners Club greg

The 2.0d definatly is a 5 speed box and your right the 2.2 has a 6 speed box.

i would have the garage check if it is 5speed or 6 speed. Perhaps it had a new gear knob added, anything over 100k miles is gonna look shabby so traders replace them.

Welcome Greg, Good luck with car, I would always be wary of a garage selling a car with wrong description as if they do not know about the car they are selling, what sort of checks have they done on the car when they took it in, good luck anyway. :D

IIt is a 2.0 5 speed

A bit disappointed it is not 2.2 but been looking for a good example of a 2.0 for a a while and will be happy with it.

Going to have a look in an hours time. On delivery it will have a new MOT, at least I will not have that expense and its possible associated costs to look forward to.

Will post again when I get back

Greg

Hi Greg, I looked on Auto Trader and the when I put 2.2 x type diesel the prices stated at just under £5000, hope you find the car you are looking for. :D

Hi All

Just got back from the viewing. I am now officially a Jag owner.

Very clean car even before the garage has had it valeted, hardly a mark on it. previous expensive work done include all new brake discs, air con pars all costing over £800, fully stamped service book 138K. Will be MOT'ed when I collect on Friday including a new tyre. All for £3100. drives purrrfectly.

Have a look at the advert while is still running

Regards Greg
