The manual states that if you want to play the radio without starting the car, press the start button without your foot on the brake, which works just fine but the car turns itself off after about 5 minutes. Is there a way to stop it turning off?

I am sure there would be a way of turning that off, May need to ask a Jag technician if this is possible.

I have the same problem with the radio.. seems to have a mind of its own

Try turning on the radio using the button on the radio itself. Works for me but might obviously have something else set on (or off) on the confusing menus.

I just press the on/off button and the radio works

i tried in many ways but of no use can you guys suggest me the best.

press the volume knob and the radio will start playing

if you press the start/stop button, radio starts playing but also climate control is activated, using much more power, hence shutting off after several minutes
