Message centre display

Featured Replies

I have just bought a 2007 XK and cant find how to get navigation data onto the message centre on the instrument display. The manual illudes to getting nav and other status messages here but i cant find the control. The XF has it and an X type i had had the facility of displaying navigation data, e.g. turn instructions, on the message centre inbetween the rev and speedo dials.

Can the XK display this data here and if so can somebody help point me in the right direction for setting this up?

thanks very much

Hi Nick'

Select 'Navigation'.

Select 'Navigation Set up'.

Select 'User Settings'.

Select'Message Centre Guidance'.

Hopefully this will work.

Regards,

Graham.

Hi. I have a Jaguar XK8 X150 2007 model with a problem with the dash computer. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Any ideas please.

Regards. John

Hi John, and welcome to the Club!

My first thought is that your battery may be low: These cars need fully charged batteries, and show all sorts of electrical faults if the battery is low. I had such problems on mine a few years ago, but they all went away as soon as I started to keep it fully charged on a CTEK charger.

If yours isn’t used daily, or is mostly used for short runs, that is likely to be your problem.

Welcome to the club, John.

I agree with David.

My s type 2.7 D has a Ctek charger connected to the battery and at the moment with a lockdown it is sitting on the Driveway.  It does require the battery to be charged every 5 days if I don't do a long drive every now and then.  There are so many electrical units in Jaguars that operate when the engine is switched off and the car is idle.

Regards,

Peter.
