poor brakes

Featured Replies

its probably only me , but after driving the wifes new citroen all weekend

the brakes on my 2000 jaguar s type fill like they are not working.lot of travel etc

the car passed an mot in dec and I changed and checked pads and disks before mot

does anybody else think the brake pedal spongy etc  on there s type are poor ???

Hi Simon,

I've owned Citroens in the past and they always had excellent brakes, having said that the ones on my '04 V8 are the most powerful I've ever had, but you do have to push fairly hard before they really bite.

If you can get the ABS to engage on a dry road then they're powerful enough, you've got more brake power than grip from your tyres.

ok after not being happy with my brakes,   removed wheels etc today and found I had a crack in my front caliper  so not good

new caliper and hose fitted and bleed the brakes all better now , a good days work.

Well spotted Simon...its good you had you're doubts about the brakes being a bit dodgy.

Could you upload a picture of the cracked caliper as it would be good for other members to possibly check and identify if they also have the same issue?

Regards    Trevor
