Steering locking up while driving

Hey. Sorry if this is in the wrong section but my mate asked me if I could find out a problem he's having with his car.

This has happened 3 times now but while he's driving the steering locks activates. As it sounds, it's extremely dangerous and he's quite worried about driving it. Has this happened to anyone else?

That is one serious problem your friend has.

 

Firstly, I would not drive the car.

 

Then I would call out the Breakdown service he has, and if it can't be solved at the roadside, get it towed in to a garage.
