New owner in Cornwall

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just picked up an X Type Sport 2.5 Manual, from Wales and driven back to Cornwall.

Full Jaguar history and 65k on the clock.

Few cosmetic issues, last owner was a lady since 06, one owner (fleet company) prior.

Car is running very nice, a few jobs to do over the coming days just to be happy with it.

Russ

Welcome Russell,

Which part of Cornwall land are you from? I'm just up the road from you in ilfracombe .

The car sounds fab, you must upload a pic

You should be able to get any problems that arise sorted out on here, some even car related !

ATB,

Hi Trevor,

I'm in Liskeard. Will post some pics when I get some time. The car needs a bit of cosmetic work to make good. The drivers door and ns rear wheel arch both have a small dent, and the os rear bumper has been touched up with an aerosol can (badly). Also someone had tried cleaning something of the front seats, and has taken the colour of in a couple of places.

Are there many members in the South West?

Russ

Russ,

There are a few of us yokels about, which is understandable as cars are only a very recent edition to the West Country, along with colour TV; but not many, think there is one in Plymouth, and a few foreigners in Somerset .

Rumour has it that an enterprising Northerner is making a fortune by fitting snorkels to cars in the West Country.

Peter.

I heard that the trials were unsuccessful, due to the snorkels being made from steel nicked from Armco barriers. ;o)

Russ

Peter,

Also, as Russell will confirm, you won't find many northerners working down here in the West Country. Most have them come down so they can be on the dole at the seaside, as in Newquay and Ilfracombe ( Liverpool- on-Sea ) .

ATB,

Trevor

No northerner would ever consider stealing anything made in Newport [south Wales one] ---  only good steel from Sheffield!

The reason the trial was unsuccessful was that the southerners kept opening the windows of their cars.

Peter.

Peter,

The Northerners down this way are in no way representative of the proper decent northerners .

I was brought up just up the road Newport at a place called Risca .

Trevor

Peter,

Used to go to Pontlanffraith (probably wrong spelling) Grammar school near Blackwood .

The reason that I had the misfortune of being born in Liverpoool was because my mother was living there when she was pregnant with me, and wanted me to be born English, so went to her mothers in Liverpool .

ATB,

Trevor
