Hi Jarrod, Welcome to the forum and potential ownership. I can't talk with authority on the XK (although would love to own one myself - maybe a few years time). When I bought my S-Type last year (4.2 V8 Sport (faster than the XK ;) )), I knew next to nothing about the brand other than I loved the retro styling and wanted a V8. I did some research online but didn't have a mechanic mate in my back pocket. I settled for an AA inspection of the car before signing on the dotted line. Because the car was more than 8 years old I had to opt for the full (more costly) inspection, which combined with it being the 4.2l cost me £272.00 (discounted for AA member) but it basically gave me some peace of mind with a 3rd party inspection.
