Thanks Colin, I might have to get the battery checked or go for a long run and see if it starts working again.

That's the one, Steve. I usually try to miss the rush hour when we go there. I have every confidence in Carl, my mechanic, who altered some jobs so he could fit my car in before the weekend. Regards, Peter.

Dino. I have a 2013 Jaguar XF. The stop/start worked ok for about six months but then did not cut out. I took it back and the dealer said that as I was only making local journies the batteries were not being charged sufficiently for the stop/start to kick in. They kept my car overnight for a trickle charge and that worked for about two days. As a service was due in a couple of months it suited me to raise the matter then but it was not to be. The battery was totally flat one day and I had to call out Jaguar Assistance. The technician was excellent and did a check with a piece of equipment that showed that the battery itself was faulty and gave me a certificate with the fault confirmation code to give to the dealer. Battery replaced under warranty and worked perfectly ever since. Hope this is of help.
  4. I bought a 2.7 deisel on an 04 Plate, 3yrs ago. Over the first year I spent almost as much on repairs as I did on the purchase! However, since then (last two years) the car has been faultless, returns 38+ mpg combined, and is a joy to drive. My first jaguar was one of the original Mk 2s ~I'm in my 70s ~ and I always promised myself to buy another when I retired. My advice to anyone looking to buy an S type: have deep pockets, buy the best model you can afford, put right anything that needs fixing, regular maintenance and enjoy.

Hi Dino Great to see your XF the right way up! It looks great, I believe it's the same colour as mine, Lunar Grey.
