  1. Yes, just been out on first drive. I had busy work day yesterday so it was delivered to my son-in-laws, we had torrential rain like most of UK so our road outside or home was flooded, so I’m pleased it was at his. Took Mrs Norfolk Ian out for drive and we both love it. Took it to my first home (in back ground of photo).

  4. Dear Jaguar lovers, I am a new member and seeking your advice. I am about to purchase my very first Jaguar XF. Unfortunately I don’t have anyone who can advise me on what things should I check before purchase, so hoping for your knowledgeable opinion. I found what seems like a perfect car for me, 2017 portfolio XF with 2.0 diesel engine, with 47k miles on the clock. What potential issues can come up at this mileage and age? What should I check/ask the dealer for before purchase? from my online research I gathered that the display sometimes may be lagging so I will definitely check that, apart from that I found that timing belt/chain should be replaced at some point around that mileage as well as oil in the gearbox (it’s automatic) how much do these usually cost. also, how much on average do you spend on servicing your XFs? I’m very keen to buy this car, but just want to ensure I do all checks possible for smooth driving as well trying to get better understanding how much will I need to have a side for regular maintenance. I look forward for your advice and thank you in advance

  5. Before purchasing a Jaguar fitted with the diesel engine, you need to be sure that you will be doing the type of journeys that will suit a modern diesel . They don't tend to like lots of short journeys where they don't get up to full operating temperature (this can take up to 10 minutes !) All modern diesels are fitted with a DPF (diesel particulate filter), to help lower the vehicles emissions, these can also cause problems if the car is mainly used for short journeys and at lower speeds (town / urban driving) Jaguar have had some issues with the 2 litre Ingenium engines that have been used since 2015. Worth 'Googling' Ingenium engine problems, to get an insight. Some of the issues involve failure of the timing chains. A gearbox oil / filter change should be about £300-£400 (more expensive at a main dealer)

  6. Hi Sofia, I bought a 2017 XF-S last year, my second XF (first was a 2011). Only problem so far is glow-plugs not working (cold weather only!), not sure if it's the plugs or the controller, but I need to get it seen to before next winter! BTW, I'm an Essex boi too, from Tilbury, now living in Sussex, where you at? Good luck with your XF - they're great! J

  7. Reversing camera failing to work due to fibre optic cable in the boot, also mine does not work if it is or has just rained. A pain in the !Removed!.

  8. HIya, I bought a 2011 XF-S about 3 years ago, just swapped it (yesterday) for a 2017 version. There were bills - no doubt about that, (alternator, thermostat, brakes, suspension bushes, in addition to tyres and servicing). But it was a total joy to drive and simply be in - hence going for the same again! Hope you enjoy yours as much, if you go for it! Cheers, Jon
