  1. Hello, fellow Jaguar enthusiasts, I'm John Kattenhorn, and I'm excited to finally be joining this community. I've been promising myself to get more involved since January! My recent journey with Jaguar began in 2021. My wife and I have always had a passion for unique vehicles, which led us to acquire two Jaguars - an I-Pace for our company and an F-Type R as a retirement gift. The F-Type was particularly special as a substitute for our motorcycle adventures, which my wife was enjoying less. I mostly did the longer rides to spend time with her. 🙂 The F-Type R has been our faithful companion, especially during the summer months. It has significantly reshaped our travel preferences. Since COVID-19, we've found joy in exploring Europe's scenic routes in the F-Type, favoring it over flying. We are pretty excited to be awaiting the arrival of our new F-Pace SVR next Tuesday. It's set to replace our I-Pace as our daily driver. We've had only one issue with the I-Pace's charging flap, but aside from that, it's been flawless. I'll be sad to see it go. Surprisingly, I find myself feeling nostalgic about the Jaguars we are losing as the brand progresses through its transformation. I'm here to contribute to the community, share experiences, and learn. Looking forward to an engaging and enriching experience here. Best regards, John

  2. Hi John and Ian, I've just joined having recently bought an X-Type 2l TD. However, I'm not new to Jags: my father had several and I have previously owned an XJS plus a Daimler Sovereign when I was much younger, lol.

  6. Hi Peter Glad you got it sorted, and thanks for the update. Always nice to know how people have actually solved the problems rather than just having a list of problems and suggestions for solving them which may or may not have worked. 🙂 John

  7. Update! The problem turned out to be a worn compressor and a slightly flat battery. The latter was easily resolved but the compressor turned into a saga. I had a new piston ring in my spares stash which I seem to remember buying because it came with free desiccant for the drier. I fitted the new ring and the message was still there. On the bench the compressor struggled to reach 5 bar never mind 14. A new, proper ring saved the day , restored compression and broke the daily routine of removing the compressor. We never have time to do a job properly yet find time to do it twice.....or three times. The moral of the story is 'Only buy the original Bagpiping Andy kit or risk becoming very efficient at removal and replacement of the compressor.
