  1. Useful information from Confused.com Original article and more information here https://www.confused.com/car-insurance/driving-in-europe
  2. Hi Tom....and welcome to your new Jaguar You can never have enough Jags...at least I've never read any rules about multiple Jaguar ownership Cheers, Trevor
  3. You certainly have a beautiful and rare XJS there John....I had a 1980 pre-HE XJS myself and was told that during that year, Jaguar were on strike for 8 months, hence some cars were left outside, no paint, hanging around, etc and this led to extensive corrosion problems. Had to chase mine around with a MIG welder for weeks, even when it was still only 5 years old. Still have fond memories of it though, such a sweet car to drive and would love one in my garage nowadays
  4. You can even get a discount through the Jaguar Owners Club for 15% off a set of hoses Goodridge Hoses: https://www.goodridge.co.uk/collections/types?q=car+brake+kit Discount Code: http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/discounts/goodridge-ltd-2/
  5. I think 3GB should be more than enough and as far as I know, data only is just an option to those who just want that and not voice calls, etc. I use a data only SIM on a tablet and that can make voice calls over the internet if required, so a general SIM should work fine as far as I can tell....worth checking with the contract supplier though.
  6. Hi Andrew Thank you for your kind words of appreciation for the Club and its Members. It's always nice to hear good feedback from the Members and that's a very kind gesture with the Ignition Coils, I'm sure someone (or at least, their engine) will really benefit from them. Cheers, Trevor
  7. Hi Mike....welcome to the Club Sorry to hear your engine has expired...what went wrong? There are many engine suppliers but as for reputation, you pay your money and you take your chance as they say....not sure who to recommend. Cheers, Trevor
  8. Hi Tariq....welcome to the Club Not sure personally of any specialists in your area but sometimes fitting Goodridge steel braided hoses (and new fluid) will improve the braking efficiency tremendously and at very little cost. Any garage could fit hoses quite easily and at a reasonable cost Let us know how you get on with getting your brakes upgraded Cheers, Trevor
  9. Hi Lee...welcome to the Club Great looking car and as Leo has mentioned, the wheels look fine as they are, but I suppose it is always down to personal choice (as long as we also like it, lol). Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  10. Hi Josh....welcome to the Club You're never too young to own a Jag....maybe not a Volvo though! Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  11. Hi Boyd....welcome to the Club If you've got any specific questions then you are welcome to post them up in the X-Type section of the forum and hopefully some members will have the answers. Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  12. Hi Mike.....welcome to the Forum Hope you enjoy the Jag compared to the Merc and BMW which are both fine cars. Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  13. Are you sure nothing was disconnected in the boot area when they were carrying out strip and refit?
  14. Great news Frank....shows how good Jaguars really are :-)
  15. Hi Daryl...welcome to the Club I'm sure it's worth the fuel costs when you hear the engine roar :-) Good to have you onboard Cheers Trevor
  16. Must be Jaguar only as cannot find a listing for it on Castrol http://applications.castrol.com/oilselector/en_gb/c/recommendation?_ga=2.45261028.1941953534.1498641492-219158175.1498641492&vehicleType=cars&manufacturer=jaguar&model=xf-x250-(2008-2015)&modelType=xf-2-7d-v6-(2008-2009)
  17. Went looking for the post and also cannot find it. Sounds like either a defective glow plug or injector....worth scanning to find out which.
  18. Hi Ann....welcome to the Club I would definitely say that a defective battery will cause these electrical faults and as for the smoking, I would add some fuel treatment and give the car an 'Italian Tune-Up' to clear it out. Cheers, Trevor
  19. Hi Mick...welcome to the Club Would be great to see a picture of the F-Type when you get it. Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  20. Was just chatting to someone the other day about Jaguar returning to Le Mans....I think it's only a matter time before they do, considering LMP1 class is due a big shake up after this year's outcome. Watch this space as they say!
