  1. Hello I hope someone will be able to assist me with a question regarding the distance of the caliper fixing holes on a Jaguar XK 2010. I know the calipers are attached to the wheels on a mounting just behind the hub. I have a set of Brembo calipers off an S Type R and before I restore the calipers I would like to know if it is worth doing. I know there are brackets available if the holes are not the same, but it would be ideal if they were the same as an XK 2010. I am unable to get to the fixings otherwise I wouldn't ask. Can anyone help me please. Thank you for your time.
  2. Hi It's B61 8PE and number 5 let me know By email please andrew5523@gmail.com. I have a couple of hospital appointments this month strikes permitting so as soon as you can sort out if you can come over let me know. Take care
  3. Hi Will Sorry I didn't see your message until earlier this morning. If you want it, it's yours. My health is not so good but I caask my neighbour to lift it out for me when I know you are coming. Sunday onwards any day as long as you give me time to get sorted. Andy
  4. Hi I'm sorry the distance is a problem if I had a van I would drop it off. It would be a good excuse to see my family, some live in Poole and some in West Dean. Pity it only fits under the XK and not in the boot.
  5. Hi Julie Thank you, I don't know if its the isolation during covid that has affected people, but when I've asked around if someone wants an exhaust I get looked at like I'm up to something. I really just want to help someone save a few pounds. It's nice to know some people still recognise a gesture of help and not a con.
  6. Hello everyone I have a very nice condition back box that is just taking up space. If someone has a need for it please let me know. No hidden agenda just want to save someone a little money if there's is in need of replacing. I know how expensive they are, I replaced it for a lighter weight exhaust. I had it checked with a camera inside for damage and it is in good order. I don't know if I can put my email but it is the best way to contact me. andrew5523@gmail.com
  7. Hello As a one time do everything myself chap, i find it increasingly frustrating when i cant even take a wheel off now. Muscular Dystrophy unfortunately progressively curtailed my pastimes. I have to find out the bolt hole spacing for the brake calipers front and back on my XK Portfolio 2010, can anyone help please. I have tried searching the XK manual and any for sale caliper or wheel knuckle i can find. There are plenty out there but none with the fixing bolt hole measurements. I am very frustrated that i cant tinker anymore, that i think is part of the fun when you have the car you have always wanted. Thankyou for your time.
  8. That would be great thank you. Don’t worry if you can’t I appreciate you trying.
  9. Hello Thank you for taking the time to answer, the only thing is the picture you sent is too small and distorts if I try to enlarge.
  10. Hello everyone I hope you are all well. I don’t get many good days, in fact my disability causes constant pain and so I don’t visit the owners club as often as I would like. I have a question and any help will be gratefully received. Apart from on the casing of the transmission, is the serial number anywhere easier to see. I enquired about mechatronic seals and was told I need the serial number. I have a 2010 Jaguar XK V8 5ltr Portfolio and thought the transmission would be easy to find for a parts dealer. I didn’t think I would need the serial number when they have all my details including registration number. Can anyone help please. Take care of yourselves.
  11. Hello I wanted to thank you for an interesting day at the RAF museum cosford, I spotted a jaguar with the wheels I have been looking for, for a long time. They are spoked deep dish alloys. There was an award in the car between the front seats on the arm rest. If anyone could tell me where the wheels came from I would be very grateful.
  12. Hello Everyone Firstly I must say that these are my opinions and not condoned or endorsed by the club. I am now in my fifties and one thing that I find sad is that the word "help" is treated by so many people with suspicion It as though they are waiting for " but it will cost you" Clubs like this in my opinion help restore the values I was taught as a child. Members genuinely help others with no hidden agendas it's just good old fashioned "I will help you" and so I would like to help someone I have six new pencil coils and gaskets that I bought for my s type my disability stopped me fitting them for a while and when I felt well enough to have a go at changing them I found that the connection on the new ones is too small so if someone wants them and can pick them up they can have them no strings just in the club spirit of help they are free
  13. Hello Everyone I am sorry for being a nuisance but I am in pain and very confused. I was on my way out and fortunately had only gone a few miles when my dashboard lit up it went from handbrake fault footpedal fault gearbox fault then every.light came on before suddenly my steering went and the car completely turned off. I had to push by myself as other cars just used their horns at me and drove around me as I.tried to get my car to the curb. I don't use it very.often and even though I have a new battery could this be the trouble and it's just the battery that has caused this. Or am I being too hopeful and I have bigger.problems. I am home with the car now and just.wanted to see if anyone had come across this sort of thing. I will test the battery tomorrow when I recover but any ideas tips or suggestions will be gratefully received. Thank you

If I sent you the money for the parts plus a fee for your time and effort. Would you be interested I would not be offended if you said no I just really am stuck Thank you Andy

  19. Thanks Joe I know it will sound silly but after reading posts regarding Andriod conversion I thought what a great idea I've got all the bits and a raspberry pi3 I thought how hard can it be lol Now I'm regretting it but I did have some sense and I bought a s type head unit and dvd to adapt so that my own is untouched Problem is there are no cables with the head unit or the dvd player I don't want to start taking the cables out of the car but I'm just not having any luck finding spares anywhere I really do appreciate your help Joe thank you
  20. Joe you are a star thank you very much for taking the time to help me Andy
  21. Hi Joe Yes sorry I mean the double din unit that has the touch screen in the front dual climate buttons nav etc . On the back is a 24 pin connector socket .the CD player is a separate unit underneath this with two connectors a small one that I think is optical the one above that has pins different than the double din unit left to right it starts with four pins that are thicker than the rest then 16 normal So two rows 2 thick then 8 thin in each row. I could take mine out of the car but I hoped there would be a way to just test this before I went that far. I have a Lavolta test machine that regulates volts current Any advice will be appreciated thanks Joe Andy
  22. Hello I have a replacement audio head unit for my 2007 S Type and would like to know how could I test it before taking my current one out of the car could I attach a couple of leads from a 12 volt source to certain pins on the back if so does anyone know which pins to use Thank you all and have a great weekend
  23. Hello Everyone I am putting new pistons and seals on my brakes the rear ones are quite a sticky subject. They are screwed into the caliper and I'm having difficulty in threading the piston on passed the new seal. I coated it with a little brake fluid but it's very tight I didn't put the outer seal on first because it lips round the edge of the housing not inside. I have ordered a tool to help thread on the piston but I just wanted to ask if I am doing it in the correct order . 1 Replace inner seal 2 Screw in piston 3 Fix outer seal on I would be grateful for any tips
