  1. You’re welcome, Paul. If you intend to remove the battery then always the negative first.
  2. Hi Paul, With your car there is no problem with disconnecting the battery as you don’t have the BMS (battery monitoring system) fitted. I have the icarsoft i930 for mine which is perfect for what I want and it will tell you which sensor is at fault. If you go the icarsoft route then make sure you buy from a reputable source and it is Jaguar specific.
  3. As shown in the video, no specialist tools required to change the sensors. You can always disconnect the battery to be completely safe.
  4. Hi Paul, A code reader will tell you exactly which part of the system is flagging the fault. Usually it will be one of the 2 impact sensors at the front of the car. On your car, both can be changed from the top without having to remove the nose cone. This will help;
  5. Have a look here Andy; https://reluctorrings.com
  6. Unfortunately you do not have a ”service connection” to enable remote movement of the seat and there is no way to manually move them. You will therefore have to remove it and then apply 12v to the motor in order to move it. Assuming of course the motor has not been damaged by the water.
  7. Welcome to the forum Steve, enjoy.😊
  8. Very nice Mike, although a bit too far for a day visit. If I come up with anything else I will email you.🤙
  9. Yes it does. The most common problem for a drain is the ”alarm chirp sounder”. The internal rechargeable batteries short out over time causing the drain. The other is the little flap in the ignition barrel not closing when the key is removed. The easiest way to deal with the sounder is to simply disconnect it and then see if the battery is still discharging. The ignition switch flap will just need a little graphite grease to lubricate it, if indeed it is stuck open.
  10. Hi Mike, The manual I sent you will have the 4.2 engine wiring in it. The rest of the manual is the same for both.
  11. Welcome to the forum Mathew, enjoy.😊
  12. Here you go Mike. http://www.jagrepair.com/images/AutoRepairPhotos/CarPDFFiles/SType/S-Type-Electrical-2006on.pdf
  13. Here’s a pair of genuine straps; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204700933429
  14. The latest Jaguar disc you can get is 2012, Frank. If you need more up to date then you will have to go aftermarket.
