  1. I really love my car, except for one thing that really niggles, the aerial. Having been used to integral systems, the sight of an aerial growing out of the rear wing, ruining those swooping lines, really irritates. On the rare occasions that even that beautiful engine note cannot stop me from turning the radio on, I see this visual abomination in my wing mirror. So, if any other club member in the Norfolk/Suffolk area knows of a good after-market car audio company that can fit an integral system for me I would really appreciate it.
  2. Morning Dave, I agree with all you say, the raising of the maximum speed limit is way overdue, especially on motorways, but you answered your own question really, as all the authorities would have to do is either install new cameras, especially the average speed set ups, or re-activate those that were shut down in recent times. Getting on my soap box now, my beef is with those folks that insist on driving 15 to 20 mph below the current limits. The media, and certain other parties, are quick to claim speed as being the cause of the vast majority of accidents, the A47 Acle straight being a prime example, but one wonders how much of a contributing factor driver frustration is in these cases. My point is, by all means raise the limit, but couple that with pulling over anyone travelling at speeds that cause the types of slow moving convoys you see travelling so far below the set level. That won’t happen unfortunately as that takes us back to your point about the lack of patrol cars to enforce such laws.
  3. First car, Ford Anglia. Three forward gears, 0 to 70 in three days providing a tail wind was to hand 4.2 Daimler Sovereign XJ6. 1971 reg, pale blue, my first motoring love. First and only car I have ever bought with a tow bar. Bad move drank engine oil like an alcoholic downs Scotch. 318 BMW in Black. Nice little motor. 318 BMW in dark Red. The wife was not impressed when I traded that one in. C200 Merc. Good reliable car in Blue-Black. “Y” reg Jaguar “S” type. Lovely car, but too close to the introduction of the marque trim wise. Mercedes 320 CLS diesel. One of the best looking saloons that Merc has turned out in many a long year. Current car. 07 plated 4.2 Jaguar XK8 in Indigo coachwork, Ivory interior. I’m smiling just typing this.
  4. Just a line to say "Hello" having just registered. Recently returned to the Jaguar fold following the purchase of a 2007 XK last month. Love the car, but the strange looks I get from passers by as I get out of it wearing the same stupid grin each time takes some getting used to. Not quite sure why Jaguar bothered to place a radio/CD player in it though as the engine under acceleration is all the music you could ever need.
