  1. I am charging my Auxiliary at the moment one lead on the positive post and negative to ground.

My Auxiliary was 5v to begin with so i realise it probably needs replacing but i kept on charging with my Ctec.

I also checked my Main battery only to find that it had gone up to 12.4v (Previously it was at 11.6v ?

Is it possible that the voltage has gone from one battery to another. (2013 F Diesel.

    Thanks

  2. Hi, I need to remove the top wood veneer piece that surrounds the inside  door opening handle Drivers side. I know I need to take the screw from the door handle and remove the plastic piece

I am unsure how to take off the top wood veneer?.

Could some tell me how it's removed please?

    Thanks

    Rob.

Have now checked the features on the CTEK MX 7.0

It CAN be used to keep a supply to your car whilst you swop batteries.

There is a video on CTEX`s own website where this is explained and I have attached a link to the video.

    https://www.ctek.com/uk/battery-chargers-12v-24v/mxs-7-0-uk

The manual supplied with the product is not particularly expansive with information but their own website has series of video explanations that makes using the unit understandable.

Hope all of the posts have been clear enough and that you make your battery change and future conditioning in an easy manner.

    Best Wishes and Regards, John

In my opinion, I would suggest that probably one of best you could purchase is a CTEK 7. Could be I am bias as I use one, but you will find it is well supported by many members of this Forum.

    Hi John,

Thanks for your advice, I will now use the CTEK 7 as per your post. So, would it be a matter of connecting CTEK positive to the positive battery  terminal and the CTEC negative to ground, then switching on the CTEC and remove both terminals from the old battery  then connect up my new battery?

    Thanks, Rob.

    Welcome to the Club, Mick.

I have the S Type 2.7 diesel [07], and have owned in for eight and a half years without any real problems.

Battery issues have existed now and then and to avoid them I bought a Ctek charger and put a connection outside the garage where I cam make sure the battery never runs out of its needs. Batteries on the 5 type last about 5 years.

Windscreen issues in the winter can be avoided by a windscreen cover overnight - a plastic or even a cardboard cover can do the job.  It could be that the heater for the windscreen needs an examination — it had been known that a replacement windscreen had not had the heater element.

    Good luck for the future.

    Regards,

    Peter.

  6. I had a wrong part fitted by a garage I have used for years (I had a banging from my offside suspension) the garage recommended fitting a new the lower arm - it made no difference - the same banging was still there, I took the car back and they took it on a test drive and then bounced the front of the car -to test the air suspension strut.

The manager then told me it was the front suspension strut that was faulty - an argument took place - I suggested that he didn't properly diagnose the fault and that he should have checked the front air strut during his initial inspection -not after.

All I got from then was that hey followed Jaguar protocol during the repair.

I later sorted the strut with Jaguar Doncaster finding that the Strut was still under warranty.

Still £330 out of pocket with the poor garage performance, and now trying to recover the costs from the garage.

Its all left a bad taste in my mouth about the garage attitude towards a regular customer

    Pity.
