  1. Glad to help. That being said a new original disc is only going to have very few updates as the latest is 2012. Aftermarket ones can sometimes be a bit risky. As it is now working I would be tempted to leave well alone for now.😊
  2. Sometimes the Disc just needs a good clean.Failing that you can get aftermarket ones from ebay etc,but be warned some people say that a poor one can corrupt the whole info system. If neither of them work chances are your reader in the boot has a fault.😢
  3. Probably best to put this on the XJ site😉
  4. Hi Macca, The flap on mine still leaves a slight gap even after lubricating so I'm wondering if your problem may be something different.Do you have a local indy locksmith who can check if the fault is the fob. If it is you can usually pick them up cheap on ebay and get them cut and programmed by a decent locksmith for a lot better price than a Jag dealer. I got a spare supplied ,cut and programmed for £ 98 last year locally which I thought was decent. Good luck😊
  5. With such a low annual mileage for a Diesel I would be inclined to use an injector cleaner additive and then take it for a good long run at fairly high (but legal) speed.May be a build up of contamination caused by long standing period.
  6. Just one thing to check if you have programmed and refurbished the fob correctly before you spend any more money. There is a small metal flap that closes as you take the key out of the ignition barrel that sometimes doesn't close fully when the key is removed as it wears. This can stop the fob signal working so lubricate it and make sure it shuts fully when you remove the key as it is part of the security system. Had this problem last year and this solved it for me. Good luck😄
  7. I genuinely don't know what bolts you mean or do you mean the retaining screw that keeps the spare secure in the boot? I wasn't aware that the standard wheel nuts weren't compatible with the space saver. If they aren't where in the car should I find the spare wheel ones.?😉
  8. Sorry to hear your health problems. Glad to hear your Jag has gone to a good home locally.Must be upsetting though as I would hate to part with mine. Look after yourself✌️
  9. The last couple of days neither of my keys will operate the central locking on or off unless I am stood in one position close to the car. They both have good keys so am wondering of it's an issue with the receiver. Any ideas ?
  10. Could be or it might be that the battery needed a boost as a low battery seems to cause a few of these sort of things according to threads on here.Or of course as it only does it occasionally it may come back. Will keep an eye on it Cheers.
  11. Well I silicone sprayed all the locks and took her for o good run as I have only done very short trips this last few weeks and thought the battery might need a boost. When I went to her this morning I locked and unlocked a couple of times and no mystery beep ! Here's hoping. 😃
  12. Strange one this. A couple of times recently when I unlock the car the horn will beep twice. Now I know it will do this if you lock the car and a door or the boot is open but I have never heard of it before when you unlock the car. Any ideas ?
