  1. Could any one tell me the best place to attach  the Ctek mxs 5 charger quick connect negative lead in the boot of a 2012 2.2 XF. I want to leave the quick connect lead connected permanently to the battery. All help gratefully received.

  2. My aircon blows out cold air according to the setting selected the minimum being 18c, then it blows out the amount of cold air needed to get the cabin temp to 18c. I have found that the higher the fan setting the colder it is. This is only my thinking not official.

  3. I had a similar problem, when it rained or when I washed the car the reversing camera did not work neither did the front sensors. The loom in the rear was replaced by the dealer and that fixed it. However sometimes it reoccurs. No help to you but at least you know that there are more owner out here with a similar problem.

Hope you get it fixed buddy

    Hi there,

Thanks for the response. My car does not lose power altogether it happens intermittently that as I set off the car will move, the revs build up but I am only just rolling. However, as I am rolling the speed increases and catches up. This can go on for a while and then all of a sudden it reverts to driving absolutely normally and can stay that way for many days and then it happens again. After having a discussion with my garage, (who is a Jag specialist) I told him that I thought it was a problem with the communication between the potentiometers at the accelerator and the throttle body, He initially was reluctant to accept this, but, after discussing it with the dealer I got the car from. he had another customer with the same problem some time ago and replacing the throttle body body solved it. So, the dealer has now arranged with the garage to replace the throttle body on my car (no charge) which is being done Wednesday and will hopefully resolve the problem. Will post again after I have driven for a while.

    Cheers.

Did changing the throttle body cure the problem, I hope so buddy.

Cant, find out if you update by DVD(no dvd player in the boot) or USB can any body advise

I am sure  the USB socket is in the centre console box above or below the IPod plug. Or check wit hand boo. You could always check with Jaguar uk by phone and have your VIN number ready.

  8. For weeks I have had a problem with the rear off side indicator, sometimes it worked and sometimes did, Then it packed up got in the car this morning first right turn and it worked, stayed working fine for my short trip and back. Left the car for 30 mins went back and it did not work what are these XF's all about. I too have the dreaded rear camera intermittent fault. The dealer I got the car from has ordered new boot loom and new rear light cluster but is waiting for it to come from a Jag specialist. These faults should be re calls and fixed by Jaguar so that the customer is not running around in circles eventually vanishing up his own arsehole. RANT OVER

Please can anyone answer my question, My 2012 XF 2.2 has the 2011 -2015 rear light clusters. The indicator on the offside is not working and I have been trying to find one but with no luck (unless I want to pay from £140 for a cracked one) So my question is can the 2009 to 2012 clusters be fitted in their place and would it take some wiring alteration.

For those of you that may what to find out the answer to my question. I asked Hilton Camons, he does the XF video's on you tube. This was his reply:

    Thanks for reaching out

You can swap the tail lights out for the pre-facelift tail lights, but the indicator and brake light wires will need switching around on your OEM plug for the indicator to work. Honestly, if I were you, I’d just replace the whole light with a salvage one.  They don’t often fail.  The older units used to have LED’s in the tail light section that would fail due to condensation oxidising the LED board, so I wouldn’t go for the older units if I were you.  The newer ones were far more reliable.

    Best wishes,

    Hilton

  12. I have only driven my XF 2.2 in a urban area and on the country roads of Derbyshire, driving it steady with the occasional burst of power and I am getting 35mpg. So after my previous car which was a Nissan Elgrand 3.5 petrol doing the same sort of driving and getting no more than 15mpg. I think the fuel consumption is pretty good. Can't wait to see what it does on the motorway and a long trip.

Hi all, I’m about to collect a 2002 one of the last X308’s tomorrow after “winning” it in the Car & Classic Auction. I have only spoken to the owner on phone, paid for the car and have not viewed it yet, of dear, what could possibly go wrong? Wish me luck…….please!

Good luck mate, I hope all is well and you have got yourself a winner.

  14. I had Dunlop tyres on my VN 1500 motor bike and at 80mph I got a wobble through the handle bars take it up 95mph and it stopped however slowing down it was even worse. I asked around and found others with the same problem. One guy said change the tyres to Michelin, I did and that was the last of the dreaded wobble.
