  1. So, I decided against black rims. I just thought the look of silver multispokes really suited it best. What do you think? New Monza R 17inch rims wrapped in fresh rubber all round. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  2. Awww man... I cant help myself! Just bought a brand new set of these multispoke beasties... http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.momo88.com/sitepix/products/td_monza_r.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.momo88.com/store_main.asp?int_catalog_id%3D1%26int_category_id%3D2%26int_subcategory_id%3D0%26int_product_id%3D2316&h=345&w=350&sz=24&tbnid=7FKokBX8yBaYKM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=91&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dteam%2Bdynamics%2Bmonza%2Balloys%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=team+dynamics+monza+alloys&usg=__zJzYlltbWgQ4fcCYFVb9s2zA9lU=&docid=NQPR6Diw8J0txM&hl=en&sa=X&ei=ToEmUcSdDsmS0QXv3IGICA&ved=0CGkQ9QEwAg&dur=381 Team Dynamic Monza R 17inch multispokes. I will post up pick saturday when they are fitted!! Secondly just bought a new private reg for it, `AG02 DAN`. Paperwork has come through so just need to get the plates made up and pop to DVLA office and get it assigned to the car!
  3. Ha! Still did not change the oil! I did get around to sorting this though... Get the priorities right lol! Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  4. Yeah, I think multispoke alloys look A LOT better than my standard ones so I`ve been in touch with a company called Jeff Fowkes in Ibstock Leics, they are looking into options for a nice set of either silver or black wheels, 17" with perfect offsets for my car. So sometime next week I will have pics with the new wheels on. I think black bumper inserts will look pants after thinking about it.. The body colour coded option may be the best idea.. However now I`m thinking gold to match the leaper.. Or the easier option would be sell the gold leaper and get a silver one.. But that would just be too easy!lol. I spent 2 hours cleaning inside the car today wiped all the leather down, everythings coming together nicely. Still didnt change the oil!! I WILL do it tomorrow, the Castrol and new oil filter sitting in its box are staring at me from the kitchen wortop everytime I walk into the kitchen. lol.
  5. On a side note... I had a crazy idea.. I`m thinking of respraying all the kind of `chrome` silver plastics black, and putting a set of nice multispoke black alloys on, and using the gold leaping cat bonnet ornament I have rather than a silver one... To make my Jag different to everyone elses. Is this a really rubbish idea or shall I go for it?lol.
  6. Cabin/pollen filter change is easy too. Didn't even need to take the window wipers off, just remove the retaining clips on the plastic trim in the engine bay below where the wipers are bolted on, you can gently lift it just enough to slide out the old filter and slot the new one in without causing any damage.Next weekend, oil change. I`ve just bought two 4L bottles of Castrol 5W30 Fully Synthetic and a new oil filter so hopefully the old one wont be too jammed on.
  7. Check this old pollen filter compared to the new one...lol.
  8. Not tried yet mate check on my `jobs to do` thread I`m gradually sorting the niggles lol
  9. I had this issue, and it was the little metal retaining clip when you put the bulb back in, was not connecting properly. Something had come loose and I had to lightly bend the metal with my fingers to ensure it made contact and everything pulled tight. Put the bulb in and just have a little push about with it and see if the bulb flashes on at any point, you may find its just a loose connection that you can sort yourself. Might not be that but that is what I found with mine.
  10. Too dark now but tomorrow I will do the pollen/cabin filter and see how grimey that is!
  11. Changed my air filter today. Easy job but managed to slice my thumb in the process!lol. Due to rusty screws!! Remove screws on plastic cover in engine bay, take off oil cap, take of plastic cover (replace oil cap for now) remove phillips head screws on second plastic cover which houses air filter, yack out old filter and whack in new filter! Replace plastic covers! Took ten minutes. Look at my old air filter, do we think this has EVER been replaced in the cars ten year life??! I hadnt ripped it apart either, it came out this way! >>>>
  12. I think all the lights come on for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on dont they? Then should go out after a couple of seconds? If the light stays on you have a problem. You can buy a cheap code reader from ebay or amazon which you can get the codes from yourself, you can plug it in below the sterring wheel under the dash to the right. I got one about 14 quid. I have a code P1000 which i`m still trying to figure out.
  13. A couple of issues really. The first, the ignition barrel seemed to be a little `sticky`, I think if the little mechanism inside isnt opening/closing properly it can cause an issue and stop the central locking working. Spray some WD40 onto your key and waggle it and work it around, dont go OTT it should free up ok. Second issue, I thought the batteries were dieing inside the key fob as the remotes worked very randomly and I was pushing down hard on the buttons. Changed the batteries.. Still the same problem persisted. In the end, I bought a repair kit which consisted of 4x new buttons which you can solder onto the chip inside the key, and a new set of the rubber buttons. Thats the cheapest but trickiest way. To fix my other key fob which had the same issue, I bought a brand new fob and simply switched the key part off my original onto it. Now both my main and spare key fobs work from like 20m away so it has cured the problem!
  14. Waste seals looking better! The old ones just pull off, when fitting the new ones i just ensured they were flush and lined up/pushed in correctly into the groove. There are some white clips to slot into on the ends but mine were brittle and snapped, I found the fit better without them anyway and just blobbed a little silicon sealant behind the new rubber. Smartens the car up no end as mine had blown out badly. http://img692.images...011901143ys.jpg New drivers wing has arrived! http://img42.imagesh...cestershire.jpg Replaced the batteries and key fobs which has cured the central locking problem too! The rubbers and the actual buttons on the chip inside the key wear out badly! The replacement buttons are available on ebay for £10.99. After battery replacement and fob change (keeping the original key section and attach to the new button section) turn the key in the ignition quickly back and forward 4 times (not starting the engne, just turn on the electrics) you will hear a chime, quickly remove the key and press any of the buttons, you hear another chime and that button will now work. Repeat the process for each button and the whole thing works nicely again! Ebay replacement fob section I got is here http://www.ebay.co.u...d=390502545781 Replacement footwell mats are in and the car lives on. Things I STILL havnt fixed or done.. INVESTIGATE AND FIX ENGINE MANAGEMENT CODE P1000 FIX WING MIRROR RETRACT MECHANISM SPARK PLUGS INVESTIGATE AND FIX BOUNCY REAR SUSPENSION I will update this thread with my findings and any solutions. Il get some pics of the new wing bolted on when I`ve done it too, doesnt look too hard the top bolts are easy to get to I think it will just be where it meets the front bumper that might be a pain.
  15. Oh my god the car sounds a pain in the !Removed!! The lights staying on in the day, are they not the daytime running lights or doesnt it have them? I have a VW with the daytime lights and they look brighter than the dipped beam! Sometimes you start the engine on a dark morning and because the lights come straight on you can drive off thinking the proper headlights are on. I think if a car comes with the day lights thesedays they are meant to stay on permanently and are now included in M.O.T. Volvos had them years ago but now seems all new cars over here have to have them, I just find them annoying myself.
  16. Uploaded with ImageShack.us New wing arrived today, and the waste seals/window rubbers look better. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  17. Right... Things Fixed/Done so far > New batteries in Key Fobs (And a leaping cat keyring lol) WD40 the sticky ignition New rubbers for the usual suspects on rear passenger doors parts C2S42737 and C2542738 (Mine had bubbled up!) Things still to do > Finally get around to fixing the window retract Mount leaping cat to bonnet :-)) Source and bolt on new drivers side wing due to kind person with a towbar Spark plugs, oil and filter change, air filter renewed Ibvestigate and fix engine light issue Investigate and fix suspension bounce issue Erm... lol... I`l try and get a few of these ticked off over the next few weeks, sounds bad but generally the car runs beautifully starts everytime.. Trouble is I`ve become attached now! I have to sort it!
  18. Haha, I`ve even treated it to a new key fob battery (which then needed the old `4 turns in the ignition/remove key and press a button` - Do this for for each individual button!!). So it`s back in business I`m ordering the rear window seals from Jaguar tomorrow, only 50 odd quid and will sort the knackered seals, they look awful, so should be another easy fix. Theres not too much left to sort.. i`ll get there! Happy new year everybody!
  19. OK sorted the central locking, squibbed some WD40 into the ignition as something was clicking back into place when you removed the key and then the central locking wouldnt work because it though the key was still in the car. Still not done my wingmirrors yet!
  20. Well, actually mine runs lovely driving wise.. Mostly everything works reverse sensors, electric seats etc.. BUT.. I had a headlight that wouldnt work, I had a mooch and found it to be a dodgy wire so I sorted that myelf, free fix.. Then I had that warning light on the dash, so took the battery off and locked my stereo out! DOH! Anyway, did the old ` 3 incorrect codes/PLEASE WAIT >> PTY A.MEM` trick and again, free fix! My wingmirrors are struggling to retract and I still have not sorted that out... And I have a slight knocking from the rear suspension now and then.. I have the usual bubble up under the window seal. And yesterday my central locking (which was fine since I bought it) packed in! So.. Looking at it I have to sort rear suspension, central locking (could be dead battery in the fob possible easy fix), wingmirrors either clean up and work them/get them going again or replace motors, sort knock at the rear, and then theres the engine light I still dont know what is causing the P1000 code... On top of this, someone has reversed into the driver side wing with a towbar and dented it! I pushed it back out but really now needs a new wing you can see where the dent was. If the car was a 3litre Sport maybe I would shell out and save it but I`m just starting to think is it worth the hassle of getting it another years M.O.T when it does run out? It`s just the 2.1l SE. But it does run well I guess it could all be sorted its just time and hassle and I really fancy an S Type...
  21. I`ve not noticed a huge problem with rust mate although I have found >> Suspension components wearing out, wingmirror motors like to die, rust bubble rear side windows lifts window rubber seal, engine light has a habit of popping on and can be hard to diagnose the fault. Mine is ten nearly 11 years old though mate so if you bought a newer car with lower miles you would have less problems no doubt, if you can get on 06 with say less than 80k on the clock I bet it would be beautiful. Mine drives/pulls well it just needs some TLC. It has gotten me the Jag bug for sure, in a year when the M.O.T is running down I`m going to chop it and bag myself an S Type with lower miles I wont mind paying more for the right car that comes up.
  22. Blimey costing a few quid then. What overall condition is the rest of the car mate? I have a few niggles, but I`ve got 9 months M.O.T left so I might just scrap it at the end of that.
  23. Nope, I get code 1000 with the reader and I have tried deleting it out, but the problem comes back. The car runs fine no problems but the engine light stays on. Going to try deleting it out, doing an oil/filter/airfilter and spark plug change, disconnect the battery for a few hours then get it back on and run it up to the petrol station, give it a full tank of super and a bottle of redex then give it a blat and see if thats helped. If not, going to have to take it to a specialist to get them to read the fault codes maybe they will bring something up I cant. Will report back after the weekend.
  24. Hi mate, funny enough I bought an X Type on an 02 plate a few Saturdays ago too! They are good cars, enjoy.
  25. Anybody alive on this site?lol! Well, I`m going to blast some air around and squirt a load of WD40 in there and then work the mirrors by hand, then try them. If not I shall have a look at the wiring and failing that I`ll get the motors replaced. Will report my findings back shortly.
