    Kenny, Had a four year old DB9 Volante , the roof went wrong twice in the first month, exchanged it for a DB9 Le Mans ,also four years old. The climate control went wrong twice, the alarm system went wrong. the leather lifted on the dashboard, the passenger door handle fell off , then the transmission failed . Whilst in the stealership a woman ran into it , and did me a favour, I think they are overated, overpiced, and slow, not a patch on the XKR, or even the XJ Supersport I had . It looked good, and sounded good, and that was it. The worst car (s) I have ever owned. They should improve in 2016 when they use the AMG engine and Mercedes electrics ATB, Trevor

    Kenny, The Aston was meant to be my "Dream Car", but what a let down, the second biggest disappointment in my life, next to seeing the Beatles live . And the tree Peter is talking about was a Bonsai , they don't mess about up North ! ATB, Trevor

    Peter, The "talking to" sounds like a good idea to me, although if I had my way (as Frank Sinatra would say) they wouldn't be coming out. Kenny, Love doing things on impulse (the wife being manic depressive is ten times worse ) although I wish I hadn't bought the Astons on impulse, not a wise move ! ATB, Trevor

    Kenny, Fair enough, it was just a thought, you can group different music in different folders on them, but not to worry . Being an electrical engineer an upgrade would be well within your capabilities . Jaguar seem to use either Bowers and Wilkins or Meriden, perhaps they can give you more info ?.     Rob, Welcome, There is nothing wrong with impulse buys , it makes life interesting. They are a friendly bunch on here , and you can usually get answers to any problems . Don't be put off by any Mondeo taunts from people either . ATB, Trevor

    Kenny, The USB stick will hold, MP3, WAV, and flac files, if you have a port it is a far better idea. The wife persuaded me to get rid of my beloved hi-fi which she said took over the lounge (whch it did) and to get one of those Bose waveform things, and the less said about that the better !. My AMG has a 10 gig hard drive which I can upload music to is I wish, but there isn't any point as my USB stick holds 256gb . Sorry, get a bit obsessive about music , and I must have very good quality sound . ATB, Trevor

    Kenny, I have a 12 speaker Harman kardon unit in my AMG which sounds really good. In the XKR I had a Bowers and Wilkins unit which I could never understand what all the fuss was about , although the 20 speaker 1200 watt B& W unit in the XJ supersport was a lot better . Have not used CD's for years so can't really comment about them, much prefer to use USB sticks which can hold a lot of music. What make is your current system Kenny. and do you not have a connection for an MP3 player? in the central arm console ? ATB, Trevor

    Charlie, cannot understand the stick Mondeos get. I had an old one over 1000K on the clock, travelled everywhere in it for work , it cost me £950. It is far better than my last six cars put together for reliability (can't count the one i have now as i've only had it two minutes ), which have been two Jags (might change my name to Prestcott) , both less than two years old, two Aston Martins (each four years old ) , and two BMW's (both ex Dem ).     Charlie, I know rains on the way, it always is down here, it never stops, but at least it's warm rain . My daughter is a Doctor and she said " Tell that Charlie fellow to get his backside down here, or better still come to our rock and blues festival" She will even give you a signed copy of her book if you speak to her nicely. She has a Ford Focus by the way, but gets the train, offered to buy her a Jag, but she says the train is easier, as she travels all over the country, and is rubbish at driving . ATB, Trevor

    Frank, Both of my jags, were fairly new, less than two years old when I bought them, and they are the only cars I have had to call the breakdown services to (three times), the latest being my XKR, and they cannot get the (German made) part this side of Christmas . So regrettably, i've told them they can keep it . Sam; saying that , I think the advice given about the battery would seem the obvious choice, in the Jag, a decent battery seems to cure a load of problems. Hope you get it sorted shortly anyhow , I'm fairly sure it is nothing major. ATB, Trevor

    Peter, I can well believe it, how many speeding tickets did you get that time. I will have the soft drink as I have given up alcohol since i flat lined , and you can have the "Hard stuff" . But with you past record with bikes and speeding, it is probably best if it has a restricted speed. ATB, Trevor

    Ian, Same here. Tried my very best, but Jaguar really don't do themselves any favours . They weren't bothered in the slightest when I told them I was going elsewhere because their customer relations are very poor . ATB, Trevor

    Ian, Took mine in, they said they didn't have the part, and neither did Jaguar, and couldn't get it until after Christmas . Told them I didn't pay £50K for a car for it to be stuck in the garage for weeks, so I sold it . ATB, Trevor

    Rich and Karen, Just a thought, perhaps the key has developed a fault and the wrong signals are being sent to the immobiliser and needs reprogramming . Have you a spare key you could try ? . It is just a thought, and I am Devon"Clutching at straws" champion. ATB, Trevor

    Rich and Karen, How very strange, sounds like a fault with the immobiliser , have you a local garage or friendly mechanic who can help ? Also, Peter and others highly recommend Terraclean for diesels, which gives the engine a really good going over. Peter will give you more details . Who are the "professionals" just out of interest? If you scroll through these pages you might find a recommended independent in your area http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/topic/7304-recommended-independent-garages/ Hope you get the problem sorted shortly, were those two stripped jumpers for sale on Ebay yours ?
