  1. Hi John I use supermarket petrol in my 2005 XJ and my 2001XK. Touch wood I haven't had any problems but it's too early to say what they will think of the E10. On the other hand my 1952 AJS was running like a bag of hammers and sounded like the big end was knocking. After much investigation I was advised to use decent petrol and an additive which I used anyway and it was like a different bike. I wonder how the old AJ would take to E10.😕. Pete PS At 72 I'm wondering if anyone who isn't on a pension runs one of 'our cars'
  2. They seem to have a Bloke who knows about these things, who looks at the photo's and the declaration forms and decides if would cost your valuation to replace like for like. If you give an honest valuation and submit it to them before your policy is due to start they either agree with your figure or say what they think is reasonable. If you don't agree they might ask for an independent valuation. There seem to be more companies doing agreed valuations now so it might be worth shopping around. I got agreed valuation of £7.5K for 2005 X350 Sovereign, 50000 miles limited to 6k miles a year, and £14k for 2001 XK. 39000 miles limited to 2k miles. I think the X350 would cost more to replace and will shop around next year.
  3. Hi Tim I recently insured my 2001 XK8 with Peter Best and got an agreed valuation policy with limited mileage. After many years with Adrian Flux I decided to shop around and Best was by far the cheapest. I had to submit 6 pictures of the car and fill in a valuation form. Worth a try. Pete
