  1. Recently purchased a 2002 XKR convertible as a bit of garage bling/fun for the summer months and perhaps an investment for the future (not sure i`ve got the patience though) and I find myself not driving it very much. A colleague suggested they need driving to keep everything moving but without a Jag garage anywhere near me (aberdeen) its a bit daunting. Anyone else feel like this with their cherished toy.?
  2. lot of car for no money. you WILL get it sorted. I bought an xkr a few months ago and 3 days after I got it the engine management light came on . Long story short took it to Jag specialist and its back like new. New suspension and new sensors( nothing wrong with engine -it was just the poxy knock sensor but had to take supercharger off to get to it) Point is I thought I had bought a pup and it was going to need a mortgage but in the end wasnt too bad. Good luck with it
  3. Having had 4 S types over the years has anyone noticed how really good ones have been creeping up in price. Albeit on forecourts. Hunting across Autotrader there were until last year very few over 7k while now there seems to be quite a few in the 8 or 9k region. There are still a lot of bargains to be had but even privately they`re creeping up / getting scarcer.
  4. Bought this S Type yesterday for my wife. I used to own this car 4 years ago and couldn`t resist when I saw it advertised.Absolutely immaculate 2005 2.5 Sport for less than £3k -ridiculous. Compliments my XKR nicely.
  5. I think you will love it. And the price is fine ---I just sold mine for same money privately. Better to pay a wee bit more for a good one.
  6. Does anyone know where I can get a spare key fob for 2002 xkr please--struggling to find one at the moment Edit--found one on Ebay--silly money but hey
  7. OOhh guy closeby wanted an S Type --his wife refused to drive his xkr -so we swapped -----XKR 2002 Convertible 80k miles
  8. ok-- on reflection I have decided to keep my S Type having had it priced by a couple of garages. Heaps of car for no money .Probably change my mind again later but for now hey ho.
  9. Pm sent sorry for delay. For some reason I'm not getting notifications
  10. I'm potentially looking for a 2002 to 2004 ish as low miles as possible preferably 4.2. Not worried about colour but would prefer not black
  11. Anyone thinking of selling their xk8 or XKR ? My problem is that i`m in Aberdeenshire and cant get away that easily and most are down in Englandshire :) Not committing at this stage but I`ve looked at a couple of very tired examples for silly money. thanks Mods--Posted in For sale as not sure where to post thanks please delete as neccessary
  12. Oops sorry for delay ___thats with both LV and dare I say Saga but doing it on comparison site I got 30 odd quotes below 200 good luck
  13. wowzer--one of the joys of living in the Tundra (aberdeenshire) is that my quote is £165 fully comp !!
  14. Yup cant argue with that . Leaning towards keeping it after getting px price yesterday. Too much car for virtually no money (comparitively)
  15. Thanks---its 10-12 grand by the way. I've seen quite a few in budget but I rely on garages for repairs so got to cosider running costs on an older vehicle.
  16. I currently have a late 07 S Type 2.7d with all the extras which I absolutely love but I have always had a hankering for a XK. I only do around 4000 miles a year and consequently can really only justify a budget of around £10 to 12000 (its a second car) I realise its my decision but am I likely to be buying trouble at this budget? Any opinions welcome
  17. thanks--prices do seem to vary but it looks like new. Lot of car for less than my neighbour paid for his Focus---just hope the repair bills are controllable :D
  18. Hi-new member here--just recently treated myself to a (3 months ago) S Type 2007 2.7 Diesel SE with 53000 miles on clock Paid £7.5 k from Jag dealership with a 12 month warranty, I think that was an ok price. Absolutely love it but i1m sure the driver space is slightly tighter than my old 2003 model I had a while back. Thank god for the warranty as fuel guage packed in and they had to replace the entire dash thingy so now its a zero mileage vehicle Other than this its great with 42 mpg on a run
