Hi Mike,
Thank you, without any delay I will order the Pagid Brakes, if they are good enough for the 4.2 they will be good enough for my 3.0, our cars look like twins, I have posted a photo in the Site Photo album.
I have a nice Number plate to:- ST04 JAG

Does anyone have a recommended Garage in Cornwall
-
Thank you both, I have just checked Eurocarparts.com and you are absolutely right. You have just saved me a lot of money, can you confirm that Pagid is a recommended Brake part.
Regards to you both,
Colin

Hi I can tell you that I had very noisy steering which was cured by the additive recommended by one of our Members, it's a dream now.

I have been told that my discs are a little rusty and will have to be changed at the next servicing, I have been looking around at prices and for Discs and Pads I have been quoted £650, does anyone know a less expensive way around this problem. Thank you !

Hi Dave and Peter and all out there in S Type Land, as predicted by my friends, I came across some reluctance to change the Transmission Oil at Cornwall's Main Jaguar Dealers, But it was done, and a reprogramming of the ECU,and I have a CLUNK FREE Motor Car, as suggested like a NEW CAR!
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the subject, it carried some weight at the Garage as I took along the replies I had.
Cheers everybody.

Thanks Peter, that ties in rather well as the mileage is around 74,000 looks like I definitely need some new Oil.
All the best,
Colin

Thanks again Dave, I'll be on the phone Monday morning,
Regards,
Colin.

Thank you David, I will follow this up, I do hope it's not too serious.

When I select drive, the car makes a small jerk, but makes quite a loud CLUNK! Today I had passengers who own 2 Jaguars and they said this did not happen on either of theirs.
-
That sounds interesting, I might just give that a try,
Mant thanks,
Colin.

Thanks Graham, did you have help, as far as I can see it needs two people, I'm glad it worked for you though, thank you for taking the time to let me know, it looks like we have identical cars with identical squeaks , well not you now.

Colin

Further to my annoying squeak, today I went to my jaguar dealer to buy the additive for the power steering that was recommended by one of our fine members. The dealers knew all about it but didn't have any in. So I will need to get some from the internet, BUT the Dealers said it's not just a matter of pouring it in, there is a procedure to follow.
Which brings me to the point of this question, does anyone know the Procedure?
Thank you in advance.

Thanks Again Trevor I was not able to see them live but was at the Olympic Opening Ceromony, and saw Paul Live.
This is my first Jag, and am really enjoying it.
Take Care and God Bless.!

Thanks Trevor I'm more of a Beatles fan myself, but I like it played painfully loud.!
It's a silly question but where do you add the additive.

Thanks folks I will have a look at the carpet and dig out the WD40.
I wasn't sure if there was a grease nipple somewhere.

Is it possible to lubricate the steering wheel shaft on my S Type, as it squeaks quite loudly, in low speed manoeuvres, it's more a medium frequency sound.
-
Just ordered one for the boot and one for the bonnet, from Adamesh, just got to fit them then

Peter, thanks for getting back to me, your Party's sound like fun!
Did you mean to say a small leaping Jaguar on the BOOT?
I thought to have one on the BONNET, but don't know how it's attached.
Picked up my S Type ES today it looks great but some attention is required
On the Bodywork, quite a few small Scratches.
Cheers my Friend and 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'

Gosh it looks Blue from the Photo, still they are great cars and so comfortable, I am really pleased with mine, hence the extra expense of the Number Plate.
All the best ,
Colin
