quality spot on with mine, no rattles or squeaks, best motor I've had, but I think mine has had a prang at some point in its life as the steering wheel jag emblem is dented, so I'm assuming the air bag has gone off at some point!!

should have Jaguar only parking bays, they would be longer and wider than the norm and have valet parking as standard 🤣

think I'd cry!! 😩

The XF has a 4kw Electric Heater that kicks in after two minutes to give you heat and put a load on the engine so that it warms up quicker.
interesting, I did not know that Bill thank you.

Kev,
C'mon! You only live once! (Unless you're JB!)
Dynamic makes it firmer. 'S' makes it hang on to gears and 'blip' as you slow down. TRAC DSC lets all hell break loose! Has to be done at least once a week!!
Put them all together with a bendy country lane... Heaven on wheels!
My other half (AKA SWOTO) is my speed limiter. Can't explain in words that I bought and XF-S, not to go slowly, not to kill us, but to keep (mainly) legal and go fast. It isn't really about how fat you go though, but how fast you get to how fast you can go.
Give it a go! I bet you'll be grinning!
Cheers,
JHey up J,
I often wondered what all them buttons down by the auto knob were .
I have all the manuals as well, but they are in the glove box, which just plain refuses to open!! lol

Hi Richard,
no idea mate but I'm guessing with it being a late model it'll be dealer only or a very switched on indie garage that may be able to help.
on another note I noticed you have an XF-RS, I've been looking at a couple of the older versions around 12 and 13 plates.
what are your impressions of it?
-
Do you know, I've never tried them modes, find its bloomin frightening in standard!!
Cautious@57 lol

I needed a new battery not long back, the car wouldn't start but being part of this group you do tend to pick a few things up so I knew disconnecting was a no no.
Left the battery on the car, charged it till I could start the engine, whipped it up my local indie, had it changed, £165 thank you very much and no mither.

I was under the impression that all 3.0 V6 XF's had chains not belts, is this untrue?
petrol - timing chains
diesel - belts, I think but I may be corrected.

Mine is also a 2011 XF S, bough last October.
Was a bit surprised to not have a temperature gauge (or any others really, apart from speed, revs and an electronic fuel gauge).
Guess we all have to have faith in the electronics! But I would really like to know when it's 'up to temperature' and ready for a bit of 'action'.
Ho hum!
JonDon't know about yours Jon but I only have to drive about half a mile or so and the heaters start blowing warm air, doesn't seem to take long at all to get to temperature.

will do Jon when I get home from work, its the same as the boot one but with different fixings.
My motor has the black grille with the chrome surround so I went for the similar badge on the front, black on black so to speak.
-
mines a 2011 and no temperature gauge, it did freak me out to start with as I'm knocking on a bit and have always found comfort in knowing what my car is doing but I'm slowly getting used to not knowing!!

😂
if your forum pic is your car, I think the badge will good matey!!

Hi Pete,
daft question number one, are you sure that the option is fitted to your car?

Hi Kevin,
Seems we have similar cars, but mine also has an XF badge on the left. Your new badge looks great, but not sure it would look as goon on my red ('Claret') one!
Hi Jon,
yes mine did too, but I had it de-badged at my local independent. I found I was getting a lot of unwanted attention from German car owners on the road, but the attention didn’t stop!
So I refitted a badge, I also have one for the grille but haven’t got around to fitting that one yet.

just seen your post, while researching a usb connectivity issue.
I've had that happen a couple of times while driving along, touched the light and thought nothing more of it, but I have been having headlight issues.
When I first bought the car 2011 XF-S (60), it had had a HD Led conversion which when I took it for an MOT had to be changed because the law changed last April.
So I had the conversion ripped out and put 'night breakers' in but then every few months one of the bulbs would blow and thinking about it now when I changed the Bulb I had the random interior light experience!! (Now running on the standard bulbs for around a month with no issues, think it might be a voltage/ampage thing).
No idea if this makes any sense to anyone, but just thought i'd add my story.

Here's mine, had a couple of issues with it so far but nothing that spoiled the enjoyment of ownership.
Passenger door not opening with the central locking, number plate Bulb failure (new rear boot harness sorted it).

That's a real clean looking motor Jon, well done. Looks lovely mate.

woohoo, exciting times. Welcome to the Jag club dude.😀

I had this issue when I first bought the motor last year, found out it had be fitted with HID kit after failing its mot for not having the correct bulbs for the headlight casing.
Basically it was a voltage problem on start up, back on standard bulbs now and all ok.
