  1. Sorry, I can't help you with your question but I would be wondering what happened to it and is that the only thing missing or has been messed with.
  2. Did I do any before and after comparisons; the answer is no. I knew there was a later map update and I just wanted to be up to date, even though its a very expensive option.
  3. Redcalibra; oh if life were so simple. When you buy the map update you have to supply your VIN number, that is then coded onto the usb stick which will then only update the vehicle with that same VIN number.
  4. Glad the update worked for you and agree with your comments on the 3.0 Portfolio, just had mine for 6 months. The most frustrating thing I find is the poor or lack of documentation, particularly the sat nav system. Lots of trial and error to find out most of the useful things it can do; why isn't it properly documented, or am I missing something !
  5. Phil, I'm assuming you got your map update from navigation.com As you can see from my post (a few up) I have recently updated my maps from their usb stick OK. The code I had to input at start of map update was the one printed on my receipt from them. It is printed against the item and marked as ACTIVATION CODE: xxxxxxxx. Its fairly straight forward but I point this out only as its small print and doesn't jump out at you. My apols if you have found it, otherwise hope this helps. Once you get going; just to reiterate, during the update you can't use anything else via the screen and mine took 2.75 hours to complete. I did interrupt it once (car not started and electrical system powered down) but it picked up from where it left off and completed OK, contrary to others here reporting problems if interrupted. Hope this helps.
  6. I can confirm that my2013 XF had the 2012 maps installed. The latest available are for some strange reason entitled 2015, but navigation.com confirmed they are the new 2014 maps. I have subsequently installed them (2.75 hrs, jeez, I've done an engine in situ piston change on an old motor in the same time) and the car is reporting them as 2014 version.
  7. Tedlaw: sorry I have nothing to help but did try my tomtom start60 for the 1st time the other day and out of around 20 mins, it managed to get reception for about 30secs. Yes, I have the heated screen which I immediately assumed was the cause, I also have the Jag nav but prefer the tomtom. So given I am stuck with the jagnav (I must admit though, the more I familiarise myself with the many, largely undocumented options, it gets a little better), I will probably get the speed cams for it. So, thanks ChrisC. I know you went a little off-topic from what Tedlaw is trying to fix (I hate it when my threads get hi-jacked), but your info/experience is relevant and will help me. Since I found that the tomtom no getty the bongo signals, I have (foolishly maybe at £171) ordered the map update from navigation.com, so I guess I will try and update that before I mess with it with the speed cams. n.b. sounds like both tomtom and jag replies are a bit of a crock e.g. no speed cams in jagnav cos its illegal in some countries, bah, the driver is responsible as is obvious from all the other navs having them.
  8. Poi Man; Looks as though you have done a recent map update. Can you tell me what level of map you got ? My 2013 XF has V30.12.12 map installed but the latest map on navigation.com has no such version number assigned and they don't respond to email. Obviously don't want to put out £171 on a punt only to find I already have the latest. Could you check what version you got and was it in any documentation you received ? although the best check is in the car itself. Would be a great help, Thanks in advance.
