You can buy the fobs with the chip and key blade on eBay it would need programming and the key cut correctly but many specialist locksmiths can do this for a reasonable price.
sounds like the button on your fob has indeed worn (the button pads are soldered to the chip) again a locksmith may do this or theres people on eBay who can do it. A lot cheaper than main dealers

I did think that peter. It has a drop down dvd screen for the rear passengers that plugs into the audio slots in armrest which dont work so I get no sound. Not sure if this was a factory option?

Right guys. Ive owned my lovely S-type for a month now and the only problem I have now is the CDC button for the cd changer does nothing. It has the cd changer in the boot which has power as it ejects fine. It also has the I-POD and audio plug in bits in the arm rest which has no power (you have to press the cdc button to get it to work) thats the mainthing id like to work so I can listen to music off my phone. Ive checked a few of the obvious fuses which seem fine. Anyone any ideas?

Well ordered a new wheel nut on eBay for £2.90 with free p&p yesterday late afternoon which came today.
so had another go, nut was so tight on attempting to undo it the cap came off the nut (stupid design of wheel nut!)
So after whacking a 17mm on and a nice long pole to slip over a ratchet and a bit of force it came off.

Thought it would be a good idea to take all four wheels off today to have a good inspection and wipe round and to polish the inside of the alloys (im a bit fussy)
Three of the wheels were fine but the n/s/r had one nut that would not budge. I had my impact gun on it for a good while so thats been left alone putting wd40 all around the bolt for the next few days and try again.
only had rear pads at main dealer last year but hoping it just been gunned up tight and not cross threaded on

Having been out on a drive today I seem to be getting an extra 2-3 mpg now it can breathe with the new filter.

Im in walton on the naze. I also am a qualified mechanic but it was a long time ago before all these electronics

I will probably do all the servicing myself, but am fortunate to have a cousin who owns his own garage and is very knowledgeable. Next job for next week will be the pollen filter.

Hi all. New to Jaguars. Purchased a nice tidy s-type this week with an amazing folder of main dealer history. Last full service was less than 1000 miles ago (around 8 months) at Marshals jaguar in Ipswich. Dad has an XF and had exactly the same experience as me in that they didnt appear to look at the condition of the air filter. On checking it this afternoon I was greated to this
Clearly it hasnt been changed in a while. Better do all 6 plugs next as im sure they wernt done well three of them at least!

Mines the same as dads xf. Thin 8 or 10mm that always snap. Managed to get mine out with the help of wd40 and put copper grease on thread before I put it back
