  1. I also bought mine a week after getting my car! Couldnt find a cheap silver one so got a green one and painted it. And put the number plates on before i got my private plate.
  2. I use a bilt-hamber clay bar twice a year takes a while but leaves to finish looking like glass. Highly reccomend it
  3. Mine did that once when i went to overtake. This was 6 months ago. Never done it again since.
  4. Im also 32. Much prefer my s-type to the usual bmw's and Audi's. Like the colour of yours. they really are good cars and have told myself that if anything catastrophic went on mine id simply get another tidy shell and transfer the parts over. Having been going banger racing some 25 years these are becoming quite a regular sight and have had many parts for this and my old scorpio from racers ive got to know.
  5. Look great when done. Heres one of my Indianapolis wheels I did.
  6. You dont need the chrome trim its Purley for decoration.
  7. Thanks Russ. Stainless systems crop up on ebay from time to time. Got mine for £75 with no other bidders! Full cat-back system. Well worth the two hour drive each way to pick it up. Even sold my original exhaust for £80. Im selling a spare set of 18" Indianapolis for refurb which are on ebay.
  8. Not xf wheels are they?
  9. Just bought 4 new tyres for my s-type. Never been a fan of expensive tyres. I bought some HI-FLY bugets on ebay £196 for a set of four 245/45/18 and got my cousin to fit them at his garage for £20. Wet grip on these is fantastic and very little road noise. Sure enough six days after i got a nail in one of them!
  10. Wipers are easy if you take the arm off. 5min job. Plugs on the other hand ...
  11. If its that tight the bolt will probably snap. Fortunatly the first thing i did when i got mine was take the bolt out and put copper grease on the thread and tighten it just enough.
  12. Mine very occasionally does this to. Almost like a bubbling / ticking from under the steering column. Glad im not the only one!
  13. Theres a vacuum pipe at the back of the inlet manifold (near bulkhead) not sure if this would whistle if it came off?
  14. First thing i did on mine was clean the rear subframe up and slap black hammerite on it followed by waxoil. It had a lot of flaky surface rust on
  15. Previous owner had mine done at 95k when it had a new sump pan due to an oil leak.
  16. I got a genuine jaguar one off ebay for £20 purly for the fact that it came with a new bracket but didnt matter as it wat very clean behind the liner, and old one didnt have any rust at all on it.
  17. I didnt bother changing the rubber manifold gaskets. Mine were still in perfect condition. Just be careful of the breather pipes when you lift manifold up
  18. Im glad i did it. Sure it wouldnt have been long before it had developed a splutter.
  19. Thought id change the fuel filter on my 3.0 s-type today and am glad I did as was the first time it had been done. Easy enough job to do its located behind the n/s/f wheel arch so the liner had to come off (a mix of two plastic screw clip, some T30 torx screws, 10mm bolts) No special tools to get the fuel line off just some pliers to squeeze the ends a little and pull. The amount of dirt and grit in the filter was incredible!

  21. That video is for the square early type manifold. If yours is 03 onwards theres only six bolts holding the manifold on instead of eight. Still a horrible job though but certainly made a difference on mine (which had clearly never been done after 112000 miles)
